Over the past year, we’ve made many significant additions across the business as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting our team and strengthening the future of JK Lifting.
Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we’ve continued to invest in growing and developing our team. Most recently, we’ve welcomed Crane Inspection Engineer Luke Powell to the business. Luke has already become a valuable member of the team, bringing a wealth of industry experience, technical expertise and a proactive approach to supporting our customers.
Alongside expanding the team, we’re committed to supporting the development of our existing employees. Recently, Jamie Morris achieved his Appointed Person qualification after completing his Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Controlling Lifting Operations – Supervising Lifts and continues to develop his expertise through further professional training.
We’re also pleased to see Lucas Horry continue his journey with JK Lifting. Lucas joined us in April from Bede Academy on a five-week practical placement and quickly became a valued member of the team. His strong work ethic and eagerness to learn stood out from day one, and we’re delighted to have offered him our first-ever apprenticeship position. Lucas will begin his apprenticeship with us in September, and we’re looking forward to supporting him as he starts his career in the lifting industry.
Supporting our team’s development goes beyond formal qualifications. We continue to invest in GWO training at The Wind Academy, ensuring our engineers have the skills and certifications needed to support the growing offshore wind sector. Earlier this year, we were proud to partner with The Wind Academy on the fabrication, installation and certification of its new training structure at their Blyth facility. Seeing our engineers train on a structure they helped bring to life is a great example of how investing in partnerships also creates opportunities for our people.
Alongside investing in our people, we’ve continued to strengthen the resources available to them. Our fleet has grown with the addition of three new service vans, including our first electric vehicle, alongside a new flatbed vehicle. These investments increase our operational capacity while ensuring our engineers have the right resources to support customers across the UK.
We’ve also invested in new test weights and expanded our hire fleet with additional forklift attachments and spreader beams, giving customers access to the equipment they need while further strengthening the support we provide across inspection, testing and lifting operations.
Investment has also extended to our facilities, with ongoing improvements being made at Lift Point House. Alongside these upgrades, we’ve continued to strengthen the standards that underpin our business, maintaining our ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 accreditations while achieving ISO 14001 certification. Together, these investments reflect our commitment to quality, safety and environmental responsibility across every aspect of our operations.
As part of our wider commitment to growth, we’ve also continued to strengthen our presence within key industry networks. Alongside our membership of NOF and Newcastle United Business Club, we’re proud to have recently become a member of the Global Underwater Hub, helping us build new connections and support our ambitions across the offshore and subsea sectors.
Each of these developments forms part of a wider commitment to strengthening JK Lifting for the future. Whether it’s supporting our people, investing in equipment, improving our facilities or building new industry partnerships, we’re focused on creating a business that continues to grow while delivering the safety, expertise and service our customers rely on.
