A warm welcome to Craig Stappard, our new Planning Coordinator. Joining the team in September, Craig brings years of offshore and onshore experience to the team, ensuring every project runs smoothly from mobilisation to completion.
From Northumberland to the North Sea
Born and bred in Cramlington, Craig’s journey into planning began offshore with EnerMech, where he worked on the Britannia Platform off Aberdeen as part of the company’s shutdown planning team.
“I was offshore most summers,” he recalls. “It was a great experience, but a completely different pace. Now, I get to spend more time with my family – I’ve got two young kids, four and seven – and that balance means a lot.”
Before his time at EnerMech, Craig worked in supervising and team leading roles, gaining a reputation for being calm under pressure and meticulous in his approach.
Keeping projects on track
Here at JK Lifting, Craig’s role is all about coordination and foresight. He’s responsible for making sure equipment is mobilised on time and that the team has everything they need to deliver each project safely and efficiently.
“I’m definitely organised, you’ve got to be if you want to be a planner!” he says. “I’m good with technology and like the challenge of keeping everything aligned, especially when there are lots of moving parts.”
Now working closely with our Managing Director James Bright, and Operations Manager Paul Cooke, Craig enjoys being part of an environment where collaboration and communication are key.
“Everyone here is really friendly,” he adds. “It’s fast-paced, which I like, and I’m learning so much from the wider team. It’s great being more hands-on with the business side of things, too.”
Outside of work, Craig loves spending time with his kids, taking his son to football and his daughter to tennis.
