A look back at 2024

2024 has been an emotional year for all of us at JK Lifting.

We’ve had incredible successes and achievements, thanks to our hardworking and dedicated team. However, we’ve also faced deep sadness with the loss of our beloved General Manager, David Hulme.

We’d like to celebrate David’s life by looking back on everything we achieved in 2024 – much of which was down to his leadership and dedication.

  • The new signage at South Harbour shone in the winter sun in January.
  • Our Port of Blyth base grew from strength to strength in February as we continued to expand our range of hire equipment and PPE.
  • In March, we began working with the world’s largest wind farm, Dogger Bank, enabling the safe movement of operation and maintenance equipment.
  • We partnered with Hyserve Marine on an A-Frame disassembly at the Port of Blyth in April.
  • In May, we said “bon voyage” to Jan De Nul Group’s one-of-a-kind vessel, the Vole au Vent.
  • Managing Director James Bright and Customer Relationship Manager Claire Bright represented us at RenewableUK’s Global Offshore Wind 2024 in June.
  • We picked up some shiny new wheels in July.
  • August saw us working at the Port of Aberdeen, testing, inspecting, and replacing the systems of five lifeboats on a dive support vessel and completed a 200 tonne load test and 14.5 tonne waterbag test on an ROV A-Frame and winch at Port of Blyth.
  • In September, we welcomed Andrew Mason to the team as our new Operations Director.
  • We settled into our new headquarters, Lift Point House, in October.
  • In November, we attended NOF’s annual Offshore Wind North East Event in Sunderland.
  • And in December, we were proud to support Port of Blyth’s 2024 Christmas appeal, raising money for Blyth Foodbank and Operation Elf.

A huge thank you to all our partners, customers, and colleagues who have brought much-needed positivity and light to this difficult year.

We look forward to continuing to work with you all in 2025.
